Blue Hydrogen vs Green Hydrogen

Today there is blue hydrogen and green hydrogen, and each has its own differences.

Blue hydrogen is produced from fossil fuels, accompanied by carbon capture and storage technology. Although hydrogen can be obtained in this way, the root cause still depends on fossils, and it cannot get rid of the risk of carbon emissions. Even if there is carbon capture, it is difficult to call it completely clean.

Green hydrogen is very different. It is produced by electrolysis of water from renewable energy sources. Clean energy such as wind energy and solar energy, through the method of electrolysis of water, the hydrogen production process has zero carbon emissions, pure and sustainable, which is the best way to develop hydrogen energy in the future.

The production cost of blue hydrogen is slightly lower at present or due to the maturity of technology, so its reliance on fossil fuels is not a long-term solution. Although the cost of green hydrogen is currently high, with the decline in the cost of renewable energy and the advancement of electrolysis technology, the prospect is broad.

When it comes to applications, blue hydrogen is now widely used in the industrial field due to its convenience in production. Because of its clean properties, green hydrogen has unlimited potential in scenarios with strict environmental requirements, such as hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

Blue hydrogen and green hydrogen each have their own advantages and disadvantages. Blue hydrogen is the transition choice, and green hydrogen is the future direction. With time and technological progress, green hydrogen will surely shine and lead the new era of hydrogen energy.
