Clean Yellow Plastic Using Hydrogen Peroxide
The method of cleaning yellowing plastic with hydrogen peroxide
If you want to clean yellowing plastic, you can use the method of hydrogen peroxide. The method is as follows:
First, prepare an appropriate amount of hydrogen peroxide, depending on the size of the plastic and the degree of yellowing. Usually, a hydrogen peroxide solution with a concentration of about 3% can be applied to most situations. If the yellowing is very heavy, or the concentration can be slightly increased, it must be done carefully to prevent damage to the plastic.
Second, take a container, the size is appropriate to accommodate the cleaned plastic. Pour the hydrogen peroxide slowly into the container.
Next, gently place the yellowing plastic in a container containing hydrogen peroxide, so that the whole plastic is immersed in the solution. If there is a part that is not soaked, you can gently move the plastic to ensure even contact.
Then, you can cover it with a thin cloth or lid as appropriate to prevent the solution from splashing out and to stabilize its effect. If the plastic is lightly yellowed, its color may fade when soaked in hydrogen peroxide. If the yellowing is deep, you need to soak it for a little longer, or overnight.
After soaking, take out the plastic from the solution, rinse it slowly with water, and wash away the attached hydrogen peroxide. When rinsing, be careful not to leave residual liquid.
At the end, take a soft cloth and gently wipe dry the plastic. At this time, the color of the plastic can be seen as brighter and cleaner than before, and the yellowing appearance is greatly reduced.
If you use this method, you should also pay attention. Hydrogen peroxide is corrosive to a certain extent, and gloves should be worn during operation to prevent it from hurting your hands.
