Conventional Hydrogen Production

On Hydrogen Production by Ordinary Method
Those who seek hydrogen in ancient times, there are methods to follow and techniques to follow. Hydrogen production by ordinary methods has been used by the world for a long time.

Among the ordinary methods, one is based on fossil fuels. Those who use fossil fuels belong to coal, oil and natural gas. To make hydrogen from coal, the coal and water vapor are first combined under high temperature to produce carbon monoxide and hydrogen. This change follows the rules of physics and chemistry. Carbon and water are separated when heated, and hydrogen escapes from them. Carbon monoxide can also react with water vapor to increase hydrogen production. The process is complicated, and it is necessary to strictly control the conditions of temperature and pressure to obtain the purity of hydrogen.

There are also those who use natural gas to produce hydrogen. The main component of natural gas is methane, so that methane and water vapor can be catalyzed by reforming, and hydrogen can also be obtained. This reaction is carried out in a special reactor, supplemented by a suitable catalyst, temperature and pressure are coordinated, methane is broken and recombined, and hydrogen atoms are gradually aggregated into hydrogen molecules. This method is cleaner than coal to produce hydrogen, but it cannot get rid of the root of fossil fuels, and requires exquisite processes to retain hydrogen production efficiently.

Common hydrogen production, although it is the main way to obtain hydrogen at present, there are also drawbacks. First, fossil fuels are not an endless treasure, and they are increasingly scarce. In the long run, the risk of exhaustion will increase. Second, the hydrogen production process has many carbon emissions, which should not be underestimated for the disturbance of the environment, which is contrary to the desire to pursue cleanliness and cleanliness at present.

However, the foundation of the normal method cannot be ignored. In the current technical situation, the normal method of hydrogen production supports the prosperity of the hydrogen industry with its mature state. Many industries rely on hydrogen as the foundation, such as chemical synthesis and metallurgy, and the hydrogen of the common method is indispensable. Therefore, when developing new hydrogen production techniques, we should also make good use of the common method, improve its art, and reduce its disadvantages, in order to find a balance in the path of energy and seek well-being for future generations.

Although there is a long way to go, starting with the usual method and exploring new changes will definitely make the acquisition of hydrogen more efficient and shine in the field of energy.
