Diesel Conversion To Hydrogen

There is a method today to convert diesel fuel into hydrogen. Because diesel fuel burns, it produces more waste gas, which damages the environment, and its source is gradually diluted. Hydrogen is clean, and only raw water is burned, which is beneficial to environmental protection.

The method of conversion is the method of reforming. With an appropriate catalyst, the diesel fuel is interacted with water vapor. Hydrocarbons in diesel fuel react with steam, and the carbon monoxide is separated into carbon monoxide and hydrogen. After the transformation reaction, the carbon monoxide and water are converted into hydrogen and carbon dioxide. Then separate the method, remove carbon dioxide, and obtain pure hydrogen.

The second is the method of partial oxidation. By reacting diesel with an appropriate amount of oxygen, under specific conditions, incomplete combustion can also obtain products such as hydrogen and carbon monoxide. Then through transformation and separation steps, the required hydrogen is obtained.

However, all these conversion methods require fine control, and appropriate catalysts and reaction conditions are selected to increase the yield of hydrogen and reduce energy consumption and cost. And the construction and maintenance of equipment also need to be carefully considered. In this way, it is expected that the industry of converting diesel into hydrogen will go on for a long time, which will be a new way of energy and benefit the development of the world.
