Electron Configuration Hydrogen

The electron arrangement of hydrogen is simple. A hydrogen atom contains only one proton and one electron. According to the rules of quantum mechanics, this electron occupies the lowest energy orbital, that is, the 1s orbital. Therefore, the electron arrangement of hydrogen is 1s ². This arrangement indicates that the only electron of hydrogen is in the s-orbital with a principal quantum number of 1 and an angular quantum number of 0. In this ground state, the hydrogen atom is relatively stable. This is the foundation of the electronic structure of the hydrogen atom, and many chemical properties are derived from this simple electron arrangement.
