Hydrogen Peroxide Acidic or Basic

Hydrogen peroxide is weakly acidic in aqueous solution. It can be weakly ionized in water to produce hydrogen ions (H < unk >), and the reaction formula is: $H_ {2} O_ {2}\ rightleftharpoons H ^{+} + HO_ {2 }^{-}$ 。 Because it can ionize hydrogen ions, its aqueous solution is acidic, but the acidity is weak. When reacting with some strong bases, it can exhibit the properties of acidic substances, such as reacting with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to generate corresponding salts and water. However, hydrogen peroxide has various properties such as oxidation and reduction at the same time, and its chemical properties are more complex. Under different reaction environments and conditions, its acid and alkali performance may also vary depending on the chemical reactions involved. In summary, hydrogen peroxide is acidic in terms of its ability to ionize hydrogen ions in water, but this degree of acidity is weaker than that of common strong acids.
