Hydrogen Peroxide Bacteria Test

Bacteria peroxide test
If you want to clearly detect the change of the bacteria, you can test hydrogen peroxide. The method is exquisite and can reveal the characteristics of the bacteria.

Place the bacteria on a glass slide and drop a solution of hydrogen peroxide. If the bacteria contain catalase, they will react quickly when they encounter hydrogen peroxide, and the air will bubble, which is a positive sign. Cover catalase can promote the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide, release oxygen, and then form a bubble.

If no bubbles are seen after the drop, this is a negative sign. It shows that there is no catalase in the bacteria, which cannot decompose hydrogen peroxide.

This test is very helpful for the identification of bacteria. Different species of bacteria react differently to hydrogen peroxide, which can be used to distinguish their genera and clarify their characteristics. It is an important method in medical science and microbiology. Detecting the presence or absence of bubbles and judging the yin and yang of bacteria are shortcuts to explore the fungi.
