Hydrogen Peroxide Disinfect Clothes

"On whether hydrogen peroxide can be used for clothing disinfection"

Since modern times, disinfection methods have attracted much attention, and there have been many investigations into clothing disinfection. Among them, the effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide is quite questionable.

Hydrogen peroxide, the chemical name hydrogen peroxide, has strong oxidation. Looking at its properties, it seems to have the ability to disinfect. However, the materials of clothing are complicated, cotton and linen silk, each with its own characteristics.

If hydrogen peroxide is used for cotton clothing disinfection, its material is more tolerant, and the appropriate concentration of hydrogen peroxide may remove some stains and bacteria. However, when applied to the silk material, the strong oxidation of hydrogen peroxide may cause damage to the fibers, making the clothes fade, become brittle, and greatly damage its quality.

And when using hydrogen peroxide to disinfect clothing, concentration control is crucial. If the concentration is too high, the damage to the clothing will be aggravated; if the concentration is too low, the disinfection effect will be difficult to achieve. Generally speaking, for clothing disinfection, the concentration of hydrogen peroxide should be around 3%.

Furthermore, during use, attention should be paid to the operation method. After diluting the hydrogen peroxide, gently soak the clothing, and the soaking time should not be too long, and then rinse it with water.

To sum up, hydrogen peroxide can be used for disinfection under the appropriate concentration and operation method for specific materials of clothing. However, when using it, be sure to carefully consider the material, concentration control and operation specifications of the clothing, so as not to backfire and damage the clothing.
