Hydrogen Peroxide Type Of Bond
Hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2 $) has a unique type of chemical bond, including polar covalent bonds and non-polar covalent bonds. The hydrogen atom and the oxygen atom are connected by polar covalent bonds. Due to the difference in the atom attraction of hydrogen and oxygen to electrons, the electron cloud is biased towards the oxygen atom, resulting in the polarity of the bond. The two oxygen atoms are bound by non-polar covalent bonds. Because they are of the same kind of atom, they have the same attraction to the shared electron, and the electron cloud is evenly distributed. This special chemical bond composition makes hydrogen peroxide show its own characteristics in terms of properties. Due to the existence of polar covalent bonds, it has a certain polarity and has good solubility in some polar solvents; non-polar covalent bonds endow molecules with certain stability, but compared with molecules containing only polar bonds, the stability is different.
